A summary pack for the autumn and winter COVID-19 and flu programme has been prepared and agreed with the FVCV Clinical Governance Group.
It’s for registered health professionals in vaccination teams. The purpose of this pack is to assist those who are undertaking:
- clinical assessment
- informed consent
- decision making
- delegation of administration
Vaccine summary reference sheet
Public Health Scotland has produced a vaccine summary choice quick reference sheet.
This resource should be used in conjunction with the current Patient Group Directions, National Protocols and Green Book.
Allergy management tool
An allergy tool has been developed to help vaccinators manage patients with a history of allergy presenting for their first COVID-19 vaccination.
An Allergy Management Tool has been developed to support Immunisation Co-ordinators' decision making on vaccination, in people who have potential allergies.
Patient screening tool
A Patient Screening Tool has been developed for Boards to help establish which vaccines may require further discussion as to contraindications and appropriate vaccination. The tool is based on Green Book advice and is intended to be complementary to rather than replace PDG and protocol requirements.
Pre-clinic checks for vaccinators
The Scottish Government and NHS National Services Scotland have developed a pre-clinic check resource (supported by NHS Education for Scotland and Public Health Scotland) for vaccinators in relation to the handling of multiple vaccines on a single site. Pre-clinic checks have been developed for AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
