The HPV vaccine
The Gardasil®9 vaccine is used in Scotland.
It helps protect against nine types of HPV.
The most common side effects of the vaccine are mild to moderate.
Side effects are mostly felt around the area of the arm where the injection is given (stinging, soreness, swelling, redness or mild itching).
Other common side effects are:
- headaches
- nausea
- muscle pain
- fatigue
- dizziness
- fever
