Board members of public bodies in Scotland are responsible for bringing independent and impartial judgement to the business of the Board.

A Code of Conduct sets out the standards that are expected of all Board members while undertaking their duties. These include integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness and honesty.

It is a legal requirement for us to set up, maintain, and make available for public inspection a Register of Interest.

The Register lists any interests Board members have declared in certain categories set out within the Code of Conduct. The overall purpose of this process and the Register itself is to help ensure openness and transparency.
