“We are performing important work to validate recent advice from the Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Program (SDCEP) on the prevention of a serious heart infection, infective endocarditis (IE), that has a 30% first year mortality. To facilitate this, we request annual hospital admissions data for patients with an ICD-10 discharge diagnosis of IE (ICD-10 code I33.0).”
