Request
We would like to know the following information:
• All of the medical practices on the island (i.e., Doctor’s surgeries and the hospital) and the number of patients registered at each practice when applicable (with figures for the last ten years).
• Total people employed by the NHS on the island, the number of people employed by each practice (with figures for the last ten years).
• The services that are provided on the island.
• Periodic services on the island (i.e. podiatry) and how frequently they’re available.
• The services not provided on island, and where patients who require these services are referred to (as well as the distance to these services)
• The locations that people who require full time care are sent to (i.e. how many people are sent to which nursing homes).
We also have a number of requests specific to care homes:
1. Number of people and age range receiving care packages at home per datazone – including those receiving a package at Bowman Court
2. Number of people receiving residential care in mainland facilities and whether this is out of area (out of A&B) at their choice
3. Number of people receiving nursing care in mainland facilities and whether this is out of area (out of A&B) at their choice
4. Statistics on number and duration if instances of Mull and Iona patients not discharged from hospital (Craignure, Oban and elsewhere) due to lack of residential, nursing care spaces or lack of home care capacity
