“Please advise / share data on the following for 2021, 2022 and 2023:-
Number of pregnant women treated by Public Health Scotland (PHS) during pregnancy who are known to be surrogate mothers.
Cost to PHS of prenatal, obstetrics, birth, post-partum care given to surrogate mothers and number of surrogate mothers.
Number of women given IVF treatment by PHS to become pregnant surrogates, and cost.
Cost to PHS for IVF treatment given to surrogate mothers.
Cost of compensation paid to surrogate mothers and their children for injuries/trauma stemming from prenatal, obstetrics, birth, post-partum complications/injuries/issues.
Number of surrogate mothers known to have experienced/were treated by PHS for: post-partum depression, PTSD, grief, and cost.
Have any surrogate mothers declined to hand over their infant to prospective surrogate parents after birth? If so, how many?
List of surrogacy agencies PHS has worked with/consulted/invited to give presentations (again, all within the time period specified above). These might include My Surrogacy Journey, Manchester Surrogacy, etc., and any sums paid to such organisations.”
