Request
“I am looking for Freedom of Information on the Enhance Care Home operators of Townend Care Home and the change of use from Adults with learning difficulties to a Drug and Alcohol Care service.
Could you advise what steps and regulations they need to follow to meet the regulations required as the care home is situated within a private housing development in a private road with one access road in and out which is unlit.
Some home owners gardens border the care home garden.
There has been no discussion from the care home owners to the home owners which is giving everyone some concern on Health and Safety due to a varied age group who live here.
Do they require new classification from one service to another and do they require all the home owners consent/agreement for the change in use due to the close proximity of the homes and gardens with no boundary fences.
Questions -
- Class required for Drug and Alcohol license
- It is within private home owners grounds no boundary fencing - is this acceptable on safety concerns - young teenagers and pensioners within the homes
- The residents will be able to freely move around the grounds which is a safety risk to resident home owners due to the nature of not knowing if the patients are in for serious offences
- what rights do the current home owners have within having a say on this
- This is not the correct location for this type of service as there are no direct links to hospitals or Police Stations should they be required - how is the location assessed”
