Request

“Please provide any data, records, or reports held by Public Health Scotland …relating to complications, adverse events, or hospital admissions associated with the following non-surgical cosmetic procedures between 1 January 2022 and 10 October 2025:

  1. Dermal filler treatments
  2. Botulinum toxin (Botox) treatments
  3. Skin booster treatments

Specifically, I am requesting:

  • The number of recorded complications, adverse events, or hospital presentations arising from each treatment type, by year (2022–2025 to date).
  • Where available, a breakdown by type or severity of complication (e.g. infection, vascular occlusion, blindness, allergic reaction, necrosis, etc.).
  • Whether any of these cases were identified as having originated from HIS-registered clinics or non-registered providers.
  • Any summaries, reviews, or analyses undertaken regarding safety, public health impact, or regulatory concerns related to these treatments.
  • Any correspondence, policy papers, or briefing notes (internal or external) discussing the public safety implications or risk categorisation of these procedures during the same period.”
