Abstract

At the end of the year 2019, the tragic coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic occurred (Tian et al., 2020; Wang et al., 2020a) which has caused over 2.95 million global infections and 1931,000 deaths as of this writing (28th April 2020). Moreover the pandemic has caused enormorous economic and social disruption (Wang et al., 2020a). To control the rapid spread of the disease to protect people's health, China has enacted emergency response procedures, and required people to stay at home instead of going out beginning from late January 2020 (Tian et al., 2020; Wang et al., 2020b), resulting in significant reduction in the number of vehicle kilometres travelled (VKT), industrial operations, constructions, and even restaurants in operation, etc.
