Abstract
In May of 2020, the Nigerian government directly challenged academics to provide more scientific evidence on COVID-19. This demand was not just about the virus and its evolution, but inclusive of all aspects of the pandemic and all those involved such as government operations, non-government actors, and citizens. However, the usefulness of scientific evidence transcends beyond the government, as it is even more useful to the vast majority of citizens who need knowledge, hope and clarity in difficult and unpredictable moments created by the pandemic. The Health Policy Research Group (HPRG) made attempts to navigate through such tough moments with scientific communication.
