Abstract
Standard MBChB clinical examination skills teaching in Years 1 and 2 at University of Glasgow Undergraduate Medical School is in a Flipped Classroom (FC) model (1) where students engage with pre-session resources prior to on campus facilitated sessions involving peer + patient examination. The resources maximise learning using Miller’s pyramid of clinical competence (2): clinical examination skills videos to teach skills, clinical quizzes to teach/assess knowledge and relevant articles to teach attitudes. During the COVID-19 pandemic all clinical examination teaching pivoted to fully online via Zoom. This study explored the students’ and tutors’ perceptions of learning clinical examination skills in a fully online FC model.
