Eligible groups

The MMR vaccine is given as two doses.

The first dose is given between 12 and 13 months.

The second dose is given from age 3 years and 4 months.

Although normally given at these times, if it's missed, it can be given at any age.

During secondary school, MMR vaccine status will be checked by NHSScotland. It’s important that children have two doses of the MMR vaccine for best protection against measles, mumps and rubella.
