About this release
This release by Public Health Scotland shows a data visualisation of Disease Prevalence data from April 2018 to April 2022, extracted from General Practices in Scotland through Scottish Primary Care Information Resource (SPIRE).
This is the first release from Public Health Scotland using SPIRE.
Data are presented at practice, cluster, Health Social Care Partnership (HSCP), NHS Board, and Scotland level for 18 disease indicators, with numbers of patients and rates per 100 population.
Please note, this should not be compared to previous publications on Primary Care Disease Prevalence published by PHS as these use a different data source, the no longer supported Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) calculator.
The dashboard allows a user to do three things:
- Construct a chart. This allows prevalence comparisons between a selected practice, other practices within its cluster, the cluster itself, its HSCP, its NHS Board, and Scotland.
- Construct a map. This allows prevalence comparisons between HSCPs and NHS Boards. An example of this is shown in Figure 1.
- Construct a table. Create custom tables looking at specific practices, diseases, and time periods.
