This protocol describes a component of the sentinel Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) surveillance programme, that is specifically monitoring SARI cases in intensive care units, high-dependency units or paediatric intensive care units (ICU/HDU/PICU) across across Scottish health boards.
It should be read in conjunction with the SARI sentinel surveillance protocol.
