Description
Winter vaccine (COVID-19 and influenza) uptake was low in adults under prison care in 2024/25 and 2023/24. To gain a better understanding of vaccination processes in prison establishments and inform work to support improving vaccine uptake, Public Health Scotland developed a questionnaire for prison healthcare staff. The questionnaire asked about vaccines offered, eligibility for vaccinations, administration and recording of vaccinations, raising awareness and informed consent and education and training needs. This report summarises the findings from the questionnaire and includes recommendations to support the improvement of vaccine uptake in prison establishments.
