How will the coronavirus contact-tracing apps work?:Apps to combat Covid-19 are riddled with practical pitfalls and privacy problems

Abstract
This article examines the options for contact tracing apps during Covid19 and their possible benefits and drawbacks. It considers the potential for app data to be linked with other sources of personal information that are being collected under emergency powers, their possible future role in policing compliance, and the implications for citizens' privacy and rights.
