Research strategy

Research is needed to generate and translate the evidence for strategies to secure and improve health and healthcare systems.
We have developed a PHS research strategy to become a recognised research-active organisation.
Our aim is to be Scotland’s national strategic, collaborating and coordinating centre for public health research and innovation.
This research strategy:
- builds on successes to date
- has six research strategic objectives for 2025 to 2029, to support our aim
- sets out our action plan for 2025 to 2026
It also:
- demonstrates the value and commitment to research
- sets out the vision for research within PHS
- outlines what is needed for PHS to become a well known leader in high-quality research
