“I would like to request information from the Hospital Medicines Utilisation Database (HMUD) concerning the hospital utilisation of CitraFleet in NHS Scotland.

Please provide the following information for the period 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2026, preferably in Excel or CSV format:

  • The quantity of CitraFleet 15.08 g oral powder sachets supplied/issued through NHS Scotland hospitals.
  • The data broken down by:

O NHS Board

o hospital, where available

o financial year

o month, where available

  • The product/medicine description used in HMUD to identify CitraFleet.
  • The unit of measure used for the quantity (for example, sachets, packs or individual units).
  • The total quantity for each NHS Board and for Scotland as a whole for each financial year.
  • Where available, the associated expenditure/cost for CitraFleet.

For clarity, I am specifically interested in CitraFleet as a branded product, rather than the wider sodium-picosulfate bowel-preparation category. Please therefore distinguish CitraFleet from other products such as Picolax, Plenvu, Moviprep and Klean-Prep.

The product is understood to be:

CitraFleet 15.08 g oral powder, 2-sachet pack

Manufacturer: Recordati Pharmaceuticals Ltd

If the HMUD dataset identifies the product using a dm+d code or another product identifier, please use that identifier to ensure that the information relates specifically to CitraFleet.

If providing monthly and hospital-level data would exceed the cost limit, please instead provide the information aggregated by NHS Board and financial year, as this would still meet the purpose of the request.

If the requested information is not held by Public Health Scotland but is held by another NHS Scotland organisation, such as NHS National Services Scotland/National Procurement or an individual NHS Board, please advise which organisation holds the information.

I would also be grateful if you could provide the relevant HMUD product identifier used to extract the data, where this can be disclosed.”
