Subject: Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 Request – Salmonella Cases Associated with Travel to Turkey
I pursue a claim for the above client who suffered from salmonella following his trip to Turkey.
I would be grateful if you could provide the following information relating to reported cases of salmonella infection associated with travel to The Titanic Golf Deluxe in Belek, Atalaya, Turkey:
1.The number of reported cases of salmonella infection notified to Public Health Scotland in relation to individuals who travelled to Turkey during the period 01/05/2026 to 01/06/2026.
2.Details of any investigations undertaken by Public Health Scotland in relation to salmonella outbreaks associated with hotels, resorts, restaurants or other accommodation providers in Turkey during that period.
3.Copies of any outbreak reports, investigation reports, risk assessments, epidemiological reports, conclusions or findings relating to salmonella infections associated with travel to Turkey, suitably redacted where necessary.
4.Details of any instances where Public Health Scotland identified links between multiple cases of salmonella infection and the same hotel, resort, tour operator, accommodation provider or geographical location in Turkey.
5.Copies of any correspondence, notifications, alerts, guidance or communications exchanged between Public Health Scotland local authorities, travel companies or tour operators and Turkish public health authorities, concerning salmonella outbreaks or clusters associated with travel to Turkey during the relevant period.
6.Details of the number of salmonella cases linked to the specific hotel or resort known as The Titanic Golf Deluxe in Belek including any conclusions reached regarding the source of infection.
