Update on how patient data from GP surgeries across Scotland will support ongoing COVID-19 work.
As Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Nicola Steedman, announced today, Health Protection Scotland (HPS), a part of Public Health Scotland, will use patient data from GP surgeries across Scotland to support ongoing COVID-19 work.
This will allow analysis to be scaled up to create a whole population picture and also to break data down to focus on particular groups of people and different areas of the country.
More information about the work CMO discussed today is available on the HPS website.
In addition, the privacy and confidentiality page and Public Health Scotland privacy notice explain more about how data is kept safe.
