Data on the winter flu and COVID-19 vaccination programme in Scotland is now available via a newly launched digital dashboard from Public Health Scotland (PHS).
The dashboard, available from today, provides integrated information on the uptake of both the flu vaccine and COVID-19 winter booster, alongside data on those who are eligible for, and who have received, both vaccines at the same vaccination appointment.
It is the first time that flu vaccine data has been published in a digital dashboard by PHS and follows the success of the COVID-19 dashboard, which was developed to present data throughout the pandemic.
Today’s data show that during the first three weeks of the programme: 308,351 adults received their flu vaccine; with 288,199 adults receiving their COVID-19 booster.
In the coming weeks, the dashboard will be updated as the programme is rolled out to eligible groups.
Dr Nick Phin, Director of Public Health Science and Medical Director at Public Health Scotland, said:
“Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect against both the COVID-19 and flu viruses.
“The data presented today via our new and innovative dashboard, shows the encouraging number of people who have taken up the opportunity to protect themselves so far.
“If you are invited for either or both vaccines, please bolster your levels of protection by getting your vaccinations this winter.”
Alongside the newly launched dashboard, the weekly National Respiratory Surveillance and COVID-19 Statistical reports provide detailed surveillance data on an expanded set of respiratory infections; providing a comprehensive picture of respiratory illness in Scotland.
Further information on the winter vaccines (both flu and COVID-19), including eligibility, is available at NHS inform.
