Recent updates

Public Health Scotland (PHS) are currently working to update all PHS COVID-19 guidance documents in response to the most recent policy changes as set out in the Test and Protect Transition plan (external website) including the:

  • end of contact tracing
  • move to 'Stay at Home' advice in place of isolation for cases
  • end of symptomatic PCR testing for the general public

These changes came into effect from Sunday 1 May 2022.

The PHS guidance for health protection teams (HPT) and care homes have now been updated and published.

PHS is aiming to publish other updated guidance on the PHS web pages as soon as possible.

Please refer to the Scottish Government COVID-19: Staying at home guidance that came into effect from Sunday 1 May 2022 for advice on the general public.

For additional advice for Health and Social Care Workers, see the Directors’ Letter (2022) 12 (external website).

Note all PHS guidance documents are live documents which will be updated as the situation develops. HPTs are encouraged to use these links rather than saving versions offline to ensure using the most recent version.
