The COVID-19 Antibody Survey of education Staff (CASS) ran between October 2020 and June 2022 and was open to any member of staff working in a school or an Early Learning and Childcare setting in Scotland. It aimed to find out the proportion of staff working in education in Scotland who have had COVID-19 by testing for antibodies in their blood. This type of antibody test looked at whether someone had been infected in the past, and did not detect antibodies due to COVID-19 vaccination.

Study findings
Thanks to all the education staff who participated in the survey, we were able to report on the proportion of staff with antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 (the virus causing COVID-19) and further study those who had a first COVID-19 infection during the school year 2020/21.
The survey findings were published in four reports and are now available online.
