About this release

Public Health Scotland has released Community Pharmacy activity and direct pharmaceutical care services in an open data format. This information release makes these data available in response to information requests for contractor data relating to specific Community Pharmacy services.

Open Data files enable independent analysis of Community Pharmacy activity and the direct pharmaceutical care services they provide. Information is shown for each contractor and for the following

  • Overall dispensing activity and payments
  • Pharmacy First Service
  • Medicines: Care and Review Service
  • Emergency Hormonal Contraception service
  • Smoking Cessation Service
  • Methadone dispensing

Data in this release now includes activity numbers for consultations, GP referrals and dispensing activity for the Pharmacy First service. Community Pharmacy Contractor Activity Data can be found on the Scottish Health and Social Care Open Data Platform and an interactive dashboard can be found on the Data and Intelligence Prescribing Webpages.
