This report is part of the Public Health Scotland (PHS) evaluation of the Scottish Government's Residential Rehabilitation Programme.

This report presents the results of two data collection exercises. We collected:

  • Detailed client-level information about who accessed publicly funded residential rehab in Scotland from calendar year 2023 onwards
  • High-level aggregate information (i.e. only total numbers per month) about who accessed publicly or privately funded residential rehab in Scotland, in financial years 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24.

The purpose of the detailed client-level information is to explore who is able to access residential rehab in Scotland, the outcomes they are achieving, and what works for whom in residential rehab provision in Scotland.

The purpose of the high-level aggregate information is to help track progress towards the Scottish Government's target of 1,000 individuals publicly funded to go through residential rehab per year by 2026.
