Description
This report presents the first phase evaluation of Public Health Scotland’s systems-based approach to physical activity across three local authority areas: Glasgow City, Dumfries and Galloway, and Orkney. The findings indicate that the approach supported cross-sector collaboration and the development of more holistic, evidence-informed physical activity strategies, all of which are now progressing towards implementation. Key challenges include limited capacity, sustaining stakeholder engagement, and translating strategy into delivery. The report highlights the importance of strong leadership, dedicated coordination, and continued national support, alongside further refinement and practical guidance to support long-term impact.
