Description
Ready Steady Baby! is Scotland’s guide to pregnancy, labour, birth, and early parenthood. This is a new Easy Read version.
It has been developed with and for parents with learning disabilities. The resource may also be helpful for parents with other communication needs, such as those:
- with low literacy levels
- who do not speak English as their first language
20 short booklets give expectant parents practical information and support throughout their pregnancy journey, from early pregnancy through to a baby’s first two months.
Using the resource
Midwives can give the Easy Read version to parents at their booking appointment. The booklets come within a ring binder and carry bag.
Further guidance is provided inside the briefing document for health professionals below.
A digital copy of each chapter is also available to view and download to allow practitioners to familiarise themselves with the content.
