Abstract

Recent events involving Hantavirus infections and the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and neighbouring countries provide timely reminders that pandemic preparedness is not an abstract concept but a continuous process requiring sustained investment, international collaboration and robust health protection systems.
