About this release
This release by Public Health Scotland shows a data visualisation of a range of GP practice demographics data, broken down at practice, HSCP, Board and Scotland level. The most recent data presented is up to 31 December 2020.
The visualisation shows practice list sizes broken down by age, sex and deprivation (Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation). It also highlights changes in practice populations between quarters, the number of patients registered in the last year and patients living in care homes.
Main points
- As at 31 December 2020, there were 5,794,060 registered patients in Scotland.
- The number of registered patients in Scotland has increased by 1% over the past two years.
