SEISS is a national system designed to provide knowledge management of information on environmental incidents in Scotland. The aim is to create a source of information that agencies can use to find out what incidents have happened locally and nationally and as a source of information and contacts to help manage any similar incidents.
SEISS is a database holding details of incidents reported by participating agencies, where there may be a risk to public health due to the release into the environment of chemical, microbiological, radiation or other physical agents.
SEISS is currently the only web-based system available in Scotland that provides access to reports of environmental incidents across all of Scotland from a range of different reporting agencies.
